A wonderful painting of the William Lescaze – designed house on the Dartington Hall Estate.

Built in 1935 by local builders, this is a brilliant example of an International “modern style” house.

American / Swiss architect William Lescaze, assisted by Robert Hening, designed and had built this place for Kurt Jooss

and the Ballet Jooss which were based at Dartington at that time. Iconic building, iconic painting!
