Cedric Bell (large colourful abstract paintings) trained at Lancaster and Bournemouth colleges of art (Fine Art and Printmaking). He taught art for 40 years in the Midlands, Suffolk and later the South West – always simultaneously pursuing his own artistic practice.

In recent years he has devoted himself solely to his own painting. He is a great lover of drawing – a refreshing and often neglected practiceHe has always been fascinated by “mark making” and line – mostly resulting in “abstract” or apparently non-representational work – and there is a wonderful relaxed contemplative characteristic to his work.
