Becky excelled at art in primary school, having struggled with academic subjects. Having dyslexia, she found a true passion and safe space in art, and she remains passionate about supporting the arts in early education.
Becky received a B.A. Hons at Bath Art College, before embracing a career as an art director in London. There she worked with clients such as Coca-Cola, Cadburys, and BT, winning a National award for her creativity campaign for Guinness Rugby World Cup.
Becky entered a national competition Not the Turner Prize through the Daily Mail – this promoted traditional, figurative art, in contrast to conceptual art, which is often associated with the Turner Prize. She was successful and exhibited at the Mall Gallery in London. She has also shown her work at The Affordable Art Fair, Battersea.
She later moved to Devon to pursue her artistic passion full-time. She has become hugely celebrated for her work based on railway and beach posters of the 1930’s.
Recently Becky has begun to work in a more “hands on” way, including work with resin, and with acrylics on canvas. These latter are the ones we are currently showing at the gallery. Becky has a natural gift for colour and these vibrant canvases are full of life and vitality.
