Claire Tomaski was born in Oxford and grew up in Bath. She has lived in the South West for many years where she balances her painting with a family life.
Claire is almost entirely self- taught, although she comes from a family of artists. Her work celebrates quiet beauty, using colour and form with a beautiful lightness of touch.
the bowie gallery is delighted to welcome Claire and we hope you enjoy these beautiful paintings as must as we do.
She says:
“ My paintings are a reminder of the joy we can find in nature – its beauty, balance and harmony. I paint purples and yellows, reds and greens, twisting together, supporting each other, making space for each other. Both my mother and grandmother are artists, but I have no formal training. What you see in my work is the slow, natural development, over many, many years, of someone who uses paint to express a lifelong desire for peace.”
