Printing onto canvas… Can a reproduced painting really look as good as it’s original? Well, that depends almost entirely on the skill of the printer you ask to do the job. If the quality is good, printing onto canvas can provide a great solution, if you are looking for a ping of colour, a good scale to make impact, and an affordable price.. Always look for smaller edition numbers is my advice. Below is a good example ! A painting by Outsider artist Maggie McLennan has been digitally scanned, worked on by a good computer programme to get the closest to colour, shades and in this case the impasto quality. Then printed onto canvas, and framed. It’s quite hi-tech, but at £500 on the wall it’s a great solution without breaking the bank.
