Welcome to my blog, which I hope will bring you some interesting bits of news and info about a small provincial art gallery with some great artists! I’ll be talking about what’s going on, and hopefully some interesting facts about art practice as well as how to select a great painting or original print for your own wall.

Right now, it’s July 2022 and we are currently  welcoming the marvellous Kate Trafeli to her first Devon solo show, here at the bowie gallery.

Not that she’s a novice!  Kate is an American – British artist currently based in North London after living and working in Italy for ten years where her paintings were widely exhibited and much applauded. A background in English Literature as well as Painting brings a fascinating dimension to her work, which combines the academic with creative joy and fabulous saturated colour. Paintings are a mixture of acrylic and oil pastel on canvas or board.

Kate Trafeli has her stunning work in After Nyne Contemporary, London; Kobe Biome, Japan; and Saatchi Art and we are delighted to be showing a superb selection right here!
